I'm just watching 100% English on More 4. Anybody else seen it? I think it's facinating finding out what your DNA can say about where you may have come from. Does anyone know if the tests are available to anyone??

I've just watched it and was about to post the same question!
just watched the start but had things to do. i am intrigued to know the results of that rather snooty woman who was doing up her house with wattle and daub! and the results of the others if you can remember would be great please!
Question Author
one of the snooty women were romany gypsy origin... she took legal action against the show!!
the little lady with the headscarf you mentioned, she was mainly Chinese (i think). Gary Bushell was African! I so want to find my ancestory out now!
Carol Thatcher was mainly Scandivian and Middle Eastern.

That Strange old biddy has a lot of Mongolian and Northern Chinese...which was explained by the fact that Genghis Khan's hordes did head to Europe.

That batty bird who's petitioning for true English to be recognised as an ethnic minority wasn't halfed narked to find she was from romany gipsy stock...and as splurge says she threatened legal action against the show saying that the tests were wrong.
I hate it when you answer a question,

45703 has posted the link for you! splurge

45703, I clicked on your link, its a little expensive the DNA testing. My husband has said he thinks it is worth it.
Thanks for your answer to splurges question 45703.

I watched this show last night they obviously chose the eccentric / racist element, if they had picked your average man / woman in the street it wouldnt make very interesting TV would it?
I was thinking the same as you elfmay. I seen this program when it was on C4 . each time he read the results out he said, your results are above the average! the only person on that program with average DNA for the UK was Norman Tebbit he said his DNA was boring because it was adverage. I think the program was a load of rubbish. IM sure I read we all came from Africa. So is the DNA test worth it ?
Well I have a medical complaint called "Dupuytren's Contracture" and I was informed by my specialist at the Hospital that dupuytren's contracture was introduced to England by the Vikings. I was interested to see that Carol Thatcher is of Scandinavian Decent as her Mother, Margaret also suffers from dupuytren's contracture.

Hell, I could be related to her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you for turning, RATTER15? If yes youre probably not related to the iron lady! Cheers elfmay & Musquidobit. If my memory serves me well in a newspaper after the prog was aired it was reported they had screened a large amount of people and rejected the average DNA results!! I think the chap who made the program is on a mission.

That rather snooty woman was an out and out racist.
