For years I have suffered from painful alphous ulcers on the tip of my tongue - at least that's what my dentist calls them, dismissing, thank heavens, mouth cancer. I use a mouth spray but that has little effect and then it's only temporary. At times of stress the ulcers are, of course, a lot worse. Any suggestions for effective remedies? Many thanks.

Do you take multivitamins? My family swear by them, and they say that they havent had an ulcer since they started taking them.

Other than that I just rub them with salt which stings like mad but does kill them
Stress is usually helped by B vitamins either supplement Vitamin B12 or more food with B vits in them.

I have found taking a daily 2 tablespoons of aloe vera juice a good immune booster and touch wood I havn't had any illness over the last year I think because of this. I mix mine with a little bit of apple juice to slightly mask the taste. Seems to work for me.

Hope this may help. :-)
Have you tried TCP. Don't forget to dilute it first though.

Thank you Chazza and Athley. These are very helpful suggestions. I've heard that mouth ulcers may be due to anaemia or shortage of iron, folate or vitamin B12 and your answers have reinforced this point. Will be stocking up tomorrow and I'm about to try to salt suggestion. Many thanks.
