I love the old Surrey accent ~ my grandad and his family spoke with an 'ooo aar' twang, and most of his mates did too. Sadly it has died out in that particular area along with the people, but it can still be heard further west in Berkshire :o)

I also love Irish accents (southern in particular, but Northern will do!) Geordie is great too (my other grandads accent was similar ~ he was from Hartlepool). And Welsh of course (mustn't offend my other relatives, lol).

Oh Pippa I can't stand the welsh accent!! Some of my family live there and whenever I see them I can't understand a word they say!! Mind you, I wouldn't throw Kelly Jones (stereophonics man) out of bed!! I'd just tell him not to talk!!

LOL loobie ~ I think it's more sentimentality than really liking the accent. My family are rather like united nations, and my nan (married to the north eastern grandad) was from Tenby. And she never said 'is it' after each sentence either ;o)

I dont mind any , I prefer lilts to strong accents. I like manchester and yorkshire accents more than any other though. Although well spoken (not posh) boys get my vote too. Im not a big fan of my own though : S

My cousins live in New Jersey. That's an horrific accent. His wife, who actually is lovely, once said on the phone to me.
"ya know Padderick, it's a shame ya cant comma NOO JOISEY,da visit".
It's like talking the Sopranos.
