Bit of a morbid question, but what would you prefer when your time comes. I lost a sister in January and gladly a few years back she told us if anything happened to her what she would prefer.
I think people are sometimes frightened to broach the subject of death, which is understandable.

Well for me it will be burial. My religion has very strict rules about burial, and cremation is forbidden. Makes the decision making very easy, actually.
Burial, cheap as possible, no fancy coffins,no religious mumbo jumbo at the service, Bridge Over Troubled Water to be played...aaahhh heaven
I wanna be buried in my wedding dress with my hair done up nice and my nails done too.

But just from my own experience I think we should take time out with our loved ones and let them know what our preference would be. My mum and dad never discussed it with us. Mum passed first so dad opened a family grave, nan passed next, but we knew when dads time came he wanted to be with mum.
