hi i hope someone out there can help me.my natural hair colour is nearly black,for years ive been streaking it myself.im fed up of it now and want a change.i want it brown with blonde streaks,can i put a brown colour on my hair that has streaks on it,also if i can put a colour on it how long would it be before i can pull some streaks through.thankyou

try getting a prelightner then dying your hair - the swarzkopf prelightener is good, and then try using the Loreal hair kit things that come in a red box, you dye it an all over colour then you put highlights in - might need some help though can be a bit tricky on your own.
dont worry about how long you have to wait to put streaks in, i dye my hair all the time, last time i did brown with blonde streaks in i used the loreal pack then i got a superdrugs own highlight kit to add some more.
shouldnt be a problem that your hair is really dark, just try prelighten it before hand. i had purple hair before i dyed it brown!

thankyou missjef,i use the swarzkopf streaking kit.ill get the prelightener do that and also try loreal hair kit,and if theres not enough blonde i can streak it more,orr cheers for that,i was scarred incase it went green or pink. ill let you know how it turns out im doing it next week xx

if you are going brown on top of blonde make sure you get a dye with red hues in it ie... chesnut
if you dont by putting brown on top of blonde it will go a lovely shade of sage green!

oh thanks for that,so your saying if i get a chestnut colour it will be alright just to put straight on my hair.
