1. how long have you been trying?
2. Have you had tests, are you or your partner infertile?
i wouldn't ... it just dosent seem a good use of resources to me.
I have a fairly fatalistic view of life .... if things happen then they happen. if they dont happen, there is clearly a reason for that. However, i can understand why some people would want to. That girl who went to court to use her fertilised eggs after she had cancer treatment and lost, for example, i agreed with the courts decision there
I think if you have tried and tried you should definately go for artificial insemination. If it gives you the baby you long for then why not? So bedknobs if you needed a heart transplant you would let what was going to happen' happen or you would have a heart transplant? That isn't me being sarcastic i'm generally interested to see if your views on childbirth are equal to those on life and saving life?
speaking from a blokes point of view, I can't see any reason why you wouldn't go for it if you really wanted Children, I would follow every path to enable my wife to have them, we were very lucky in having children, but it must be very hard for a woman to handle if she can't,but really wants them,

ans as justasking, says would you turn down a transplant if your heart, liver or kidneys weren't working properly, I would want the operation.
My sister chose adoption..... twice :)
no, not at all justasking. To me a heart transplant is pretty essential, whereas a baby is a luxury - an added extra that isnt essential in the slightest. Although with a heart transplant there is an element of fatalism too ... if you are meant to get a heart then you are meant to get one, if not, then you are unlucky.
In my opinion, people who have ivf on the nhs are wasting my taxpayers money, whereas i would happily pay extra if it was ringfenced for essential stuff like heart transplants
Do you have children bednobs??
no, why?
Do u want children?
note : where is sandrajo in all of this?!!
yes, i would like children. Again, why?
So what if you cant....would you be able to accept that!
Im having problems and so want children, i couldnt just accept it...although would adopt if i didnt suceed with ivf.
im sure it must be different when you are in that boat!!
no offence intended bednobs, just interesting reading everyones views
:-)
xx
yes i am able to accept that. i am 32 now and have been trying for 6 years. I dont now, and never have at anytime over thise 6 years ever thought ivf would be a good idea. I dont have the money for a start, and secondly it just feels wrong to me
Fair enough hun, everyones different!!
Im having problems beacuse of multicystic ovaries and possible endo! Is it therefore not right for me to be treated? i am in constant pain?

I'm here paulakea. My sis - inlaw asked me this last night as she has been having problems so again I thought I'd ask you kind folks, thanks for all your answers.
i dont think its right for you not to be treated. however im fairly sure the treatment for endometriosis an polycystic ov arys is not having a baby. There is no reason not to get treated for those illnesses, but not with artificial insemniation.

If you are in constant pain the wouldn't you be peed off if the treatment for that pain was delayed because your health trust had spent the money on ivf for someone?
im trying for a baby and sumthins stoppin me so i will do anythin as there is obviously somethin wrong with me....i will leave it there.
good luck bednobs

xx
No. Never. Too many children unloved in this world to **** about with that... apologies if I cause offence.... you don't have to carry a child to love it with every bone in your body. Adopt. My opinion obviously.
