I have a small, red, fluid filled lump around my vagina that looks like a boil. It feels very smooth. Has anyone any ideas what this may be?

how long has it been there? is it painful to touch?

May just be a spot, ingrown hair (more so if you shave) or, as you say, perhaps a boil

Been there for about a week now with no change. Its only painful if you squeeze it in. I do shave regularly but have never had this problem before.
unable to diagnose without closer examination x

hehe lets not go there davidicus!
Its probably a boil. Which can be caused through shaving, they normally happen because of infected nicks or ingrowing hair. Apply hot flannels to it and that will help its lifecycle pass quicker, once tyou have had one though they are prone to returning again and again. If you do find you get a problem with it your doc can prescribe you a special bodywash that kills the bacteria that causes them.
infected nicnicnics. sorry, that just made me laugh. :- D

Could be a Bartholin's cyst - It's impossible to be exact so you need be seen by either a GP or Genitourinary medicine clinic or gynaecologist if you have direct access to one.
I don't know what it is - but it makes me cringe thinking about it.

I managed to get a sore bit there once and every time I went for a wee it was agony.
