Afternoon All,

I saw that advert for the new 'first effects' oil of ulay moisturiser thing. Recently I've noticed some slight 'laughter lines' (ahem).

I was wondering at what age should you begin to use creams like this? Do they actually work?

Cheers

I don't know if those miracle creams ever work, but I have been told that girls in their early 20s should already have a set cleansing, moisturising routine using good products. I'm late 20s and use "anti-aging" products.
don't use any and i'm 33, and no wrinkles (yet), and China you don't need to worry!

Metagirl - Am also late 20's. What do you use and do they work?

Fluffy - You're a sweetie.... but I do need to worry! If I get all wrinkly and haggard I'll have to rely on personality and sense of humor - not sure wrinkly, haggard and a nut job is a great way forward ;0)
hi china,
did you know the cosmetics industry along with the diet industry is the
most profitable money making rackets going,
as we get older our skin loses its elasticity,
and no amount of creams can stop this proccess.
andy,
Hi China Doll, It's worth starting to use a light moisturiser now even though you don't have any wrinkles. Prevention is better than a cure!
I use Liz Earle products and she does a light moisturiser which is excellent. I'm 47 (48 in a month's time) and people tell me I definitely don't look it, most of my friends in the school playground are 10 years younger than me and they always assumed I was the same age!

Also drink lot's of water, keep out of the sun, don't smoke, and ALWAYS wear sunglasses when you're in bright light - if you screw up your eyes those lines will set into wrinkles by you're late 30's. I've naturally always done these things as I'm fair skinned but it's paying off in spades now.

No cream will get rid of wrinkles once you have them but they will stop progress so start now.
My gran never used any soap on her face only cold water. She had skin as smooth as a baby`s bum & lived to 90 years old.
CD - I use Clinique products - SPF25 Super Defense moisturiser and eye treatment for lines/puffiness. Also a serum for restoring skin texture - i've forgotten the name.
Totally agree with Andrewn 39's sentiments. The best thing you can do for your skin is eat well, drink lots of water, keep away from cigarettes and stay out of the sun.
Save your money and get some Nivea and keep out of the sun and don't smoke.
