I've just replied to some replies about a post I made earlier, as one of my work colleagues by accident as they had their details in the memory of the shared computer. they then wanted to know who I was but i didn't want to tell them . they use their name as their log in but i like the anonymity of being able to voice my issues without people knowing who I am.

I can't be the only one because most of us have quirky names rather than Mrs J Bloggs etc, but it got me thinking why. I like being able to moan about my bf without any knowledge of him or anyone we know finding out about it.

What about other people?

Hell yes! I would die if my b/f found out who I was on AB !
It doesnt really bother me, I know my sister is on here, my brother and occasionally my ex husband. I have nothing really that i need to hide from my partner so im not concerned if he read anything.
Think it also depends on what you type in 'ere as well as to whether you're bothered about anyone finding out.

As I'm typing this Mr Boo is peerin' over my shoulder, so I've diddly chance of keeping owt from him!

Heh!
My cousin knows my name on here and she pops on for a read I think. I don't think it really bothers me to be honest as I've told people to use the site several times when sensible questions come up that none of us know the answer to.
I'm not bothered either ~ anything I type here I would gladly say to someones face...Mr P knows it all :o)
Speaking as the proverbail 'Old Man' of the AB, when it started, people generally used their own names - I did b ecause in the past, a team of writers wrote features on their section, and put their by-line on each one, so it made sense to answer questions as 'ourselves. Now that the site is 'stand alone', I;ve just carried on using my own name.

I don;t know of anyone who knows me, but if they do, fine, i always stand by what I ask and answer ... 'cos that's the kinda guy I am!
I'm not too fussed, most of my mates know I'm on here. It's only my boyfriend who'd have a problem with my flirting (I can't help it!) :o)
I'd be amazed if I knew anyone on here - although it's popular amongst people who come on here, it's still an obscure little site really, so I'd be surprised at the odds of bumping into anyone.

Why....? You don't know me, do you...? *beady, paranoid eye*
I don;t think I have come across anyone that knows me on here, by the way I have double bluffed everyone with my name, you all must be thinking that it is not my real name....but it is!!
Ha! fooled you all........and I can proudly tell you that I have used 11 because that is my IQ.......bet you are all dead jealous now!!!
I'm under my real name and haven't got a problem with people I know being aware of that. There isn't anything I'd ask or answer on here I wouldn't say face to face. I might make up a name if I had a REALLY embarrassing question though :0(

I used to have another name on here but changed it as it was my nickname and also I let slip to my missus, not that I say anything untoward.
My first username (long gone) was my real first name, but when I got banned (the shame!) I chose this variation on my cats name, cos most people didn't use their real names. I didn't expect to know anyoen on here tho, and would have no probelm with those I knwo reading what I write. However, since then, I've had cause to be thankful that I don't use my real name, as I had a problem with someone being very nasty and almost stalker-esque (sorry, made up word) and I'd have felt a wee bit vulnerable if they'd known my full name - it makes the guessing of email addresses etc often very easy and my name is very unusual - I'm the only entry on google (Uni alumni) if I type in my full name. So from a safety point of view, I'm much happier as Kicky x
hey dizzieblonde Im sure I work with you. What u wearin today and I'll confirm whether its u
Hmm, wonder if she'll fall for that?
I got no problem people knowing who I am, I got nothing to hide.
My partner posts on here regularly and knows my name as I know hers.
Cobra - Today is my day off and I don't plan on leaving the house, so I'm dressed like a complete Harold Ramp, although normally I can be found in a nurses uniform.
my user name is my youngest sons name, mine will remain a secret as people will know me especially those who know there sport
My wife is thinking of joining but randomly she doesn't want me to know her user name, so preseumeably she's planning on having a good moan about me :)
I'm paranoid that every greenie is her now, lol , and I can see myself launching into one one day, certain it's her saying "I did NOT do that, it wasn't that way at all" and it'll be some poor woman from Croyden who doesn't know me and I'll look more of a nutter than usual.
laurence2s real name is Alan Minter
