The body decomposes but personally I like to think the soul lives on somewhere.
I think we carry on living in our children/grandchildren ans so forth.

Not sure if there is anything else..I'll get back to you on that one :o)
i agree with 4getmenot, i als like to think that our souls will continue when we as people are no longer there.

death scares me and to have this comfort makes the passing , when it happens, a far more acceptable one.
thats why I will never go to say my goodbyes before funeral. Its just a body not the person I knew.

Are your answers a personal opinion or rather a religious opinion?
personal. I am not religious.

im not religious either, its what i hope it will be like.
I agree with forgetmenot. I can sometimes smell my grandmothers perfume, even when no one else is in the room, it's really comforting.
I'm not religious either. Maybe if I were I would have a different view.
I see it that the body is just a shell, our spirtit leaves our body in death and we live on that way. I do hope so anyway, im banking on it!
Until I have a visit from anyone I knew who`s died, I`m a firm believer that once your numbers up, thats it!!
Body rots, Soul lives on.

The evidence for your soul is within yourself. Take 5 minutes, close your eyes, and think HARD about ceasing to exist.

I think after someone dies an undertaker somewhere books another holiday, but that is just may take on the question.
i think all these people hoping for something more when you die should take a look around and realise what could heaven, or another plane of existence, or a spirit world possibly offer you that this world cant? really think about it what can it offer you that is not available on, in my opinion the most beautiful planet in this galaxy??
The body is a physical vessel for us to have experiences on this world. The Soul stores the experiences from this and past lives. Our personality is our temporary self and dissolves when we die. The Spirit is our continual life force .It is immortal. The soul continues to modify itself through each incarnation. The soul or part of the soul can be damaged through trauma.
In the words of the great native :Chief Seattle:-"There is no such thing as death, only a change of worlds".
so if your soul survives... how will that help anyone if no-one has any knowledge? and if that were true then how is the population expanding? where are these new souls coming from?
the more i think about it the more i dont like it, if i have any choice in what my soul does i dont want it to be put in some unborn child. i'd like to think that that baby is a new lifeform that has a chance to make its own soul and not take on any of me or my "previous lives" people just need to accept that this is it this world is it and thats all you need the sooner people realise that the sooner you will realise how amazing this planet is!
To The Sherman,
We are keepers of the eternal spirits; Knowledge per se is inconsequential. The soul of each incarnation feeds the spirit to work toward total enlightenment. As for new souls; This is the great mystery of life.
All humans are on the same road but as individuals we have free will to choose a path on that road which gives us our sense of belonging.
You are right, this planet is a beautiful place but our final calling is inevitable.
