we keep bearings on the shelf and sometimes they go rusty or sieze up.. does anyone know of anyone know of a grease or oil we could use to prevent this

Castrol LM Grease, used for vehicle wheel bearings. It's a high temperature lithium grease, so whatever load will eventually be on your bearings it will be OK. (Other greases might break down at high temperatures). Should be available at any motorbike or car accessory outlet at around �3.75 for a 500gm tub.
where i work we get bearings from a place called RS. they have enclosed bearings, enclosed with the grease inside. you never need to oil them and they will never rust as moisture cant get in. good stuff.
