Hi Everyone, I recently had another bout of Thrush, and because Im hoping to be pregnant I didn't want to take anything for it, so I ate ALOT of natural live yoghart and also applied it, thankfully I'm happy to say, its going:-)

But my question, is, my husband is showing no signs of it, but what do men take to get rid of it? As I dont want to risk reinfection. I know canesten cream helps with the itch but it doesnt actually kill the infection.

I'd appreciate your help.

i think he should take antibiotics but best check with g p
Best to get checked by GP as Crete says.

Also, if I were you I'd get checked too as I think thrush can effect fertility if not properly treated... don't know for certain but I'm sure someone on here will.

Good luck with everything xx
Men usually apply the cream; canesten is anti-fungal. Hopefully men will tend to flush the infection out when they go to the loo, but I'm not sure. i just know that thrush loves the conditions inside women's bodies - I won't elaborate!
violet is correct, men can use canestan which will kill the fungus (it's an anti fungal you need, not an anti bio, as it's not an infection as such).
being diabetic I have frequently had penile thrush and never found canesten effective, the Gp used to prescribe the same antibio in a one dose tablet that you ladies are often prescribed
