In todays paper, (Mail), it says that Hezbollah's leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, has said, among other things, that if Israel stops its campaign against civilians, suburbs, cities and infrastructure, they will stop rocketing Israeli cities and settlements.

I know a lot of different things can be read into that statement, but taken at face value, do you think it might be cause for some hope?.

I've never considered Mail as a proper paper. It's pretty good for gossips...

Considering the level of damage and destructions in that part of the world i'd say let's offer them the whole bloody olive tree if it brings truce but on a more serious note as you've said there's more to read between the lines.

I heard that Hezbollah threatens to attack Tel Aviv and other cities deeper into Israel after heavy bombardments by israelis in Lebanon last night.
Israel has not been targetting civilians, it has been targetting Hezbollah who just happen to like using civilian areas so they can cry foul when there is collateral damage.

Besides it's like saying "if you stop using your Uzi I'll stop using my pea shooter" always good for the guy with the pea shooter.

No I don't think there is hope, for the middle east generally.

Thats true Loosehead, longterm, but i'm talking about now.

In the longterm, because of the avowed declaration of destroying the state of Israel, there can be no hope, not just for the Middle East, but for the world in general.
