Just put clear nail varnish on them everyday. Keep them strong.
keep pushing back the cuticles and applying cuticle oil and handcream.mine are like this but getting better now! as soon as they growto the top of your finger cut them down but not too short, like you would kepp trimming hair to make it stronger, when they get get stronger you can leave them to grow again.you could always have your natural nail wrapped with gel or acrylic at a nail salon when they get to a decent length.id opt for gel as acrylis tend to not let the nail breathe.i think they do a silk wrap too actually.xx
hi pink, i bit my nails until i was 19 and had my daughter, the first time i changed her nappy i never bit my nails again. no matter how many times i washed my hands i couldnt bring myself to bite them anymore.

Try using the stopbite nail stuff, it tastes really horrible. They do seem to take ages to grow once you first stop biting them but stick with it and soon you will have lovely nails. good luck
Hi pinkflower. I stopped biting my nails 2 months back and had exactly the same problem. They are still really soft/thin but are slowly but surely getting stronger. I'm sorry to say that you probably won't be able to have long nails for quite some time as they will be prone to breakages. Plus I find that regular filing and/or clipping makes mine stronger. Other tips are:-

- Avoid soaking your nails in warm water.
- Keep them painted at all times (clear varnish if short).
- Invest in a decent strengthening cream (don't buy strengthening varnishes as they're useless!)
- Buff your nails once a fortnight.

2 months down the line and I've noticed my nails are getting stronger because the tips are looking whiter than before. Good luck hun! x
Buy a Sally Hansen product (Boots, superdrug) - they are fantastic. She does strenghthening ones, oones that help them to grow. i think they're great!! They are about 7 or 8 but are really woth it!

awww thanx every1! i have just painted them!! will take all tips into consideration!! i thought that having longer nails would make my chubby hands look slimmer!! xxxx
I shall repeat the advice I gave to Champagne and I am so glad she has stopped biting her nails !

Nails need moisture to keep them flexible not rock hard as they snap quicker so try rubbing almond oil into them from time to time or soak them in it once a week. Hand cream all the time .Rubber gloves for housework . Some of these nail hardeners are a quick fix really as they contain formaldyhide which will weaken the nails even more with prolonged use.
Always file in one direction only and clip them with nail clippers if you have any raggedy bits. Invest in a good nail styler and buff them everyday which helps to stimulate the blood under the nailbed and promote growth.Keep the cuticles pushed back. You will soon have ten nice nails.
I bit my nails for years (about 24 ish), I then tried false ones done properly and still bit those off. My boyfriend once said that I would never be able to grow them EVER so just to p**S him off I did.

I used 'nailtiques forula 2' its a clear varnish but is full of everything your nail needs to grow, now... my nails are so hard and tough AND LONG and i've never gone back.

Its not cheap stuff but definitely worth it. Search on google, there are lots of sites that sell it. I got mine from a local beauty salon type place.
