Hi ed,

Body and Soul is dying, and becoming, in the main, trivial, I suggest, that if you want to save it, and at the same time, stop valued members leaving, either bring back Chatterbank, or something like it, where chitchat, which is needed, can be kept seperate from more serious questions.

True naz, but at least we can find out.
If apes wanna start cr4p they'll do it anywhere wont they??
I remember the day when general chit-chat wasn't allowed on AB. Then they created chatterbank. Why was it removed!
I agree Lonnie, there's no point posting genuine questions in this section because they disappear quickly.
Do something about this problem Ed!
CB filled up with bile and the poor Ed got tired of swilling it out

Ed puts on her cleaning gear

Simplest just to ban chat, but she's too kind-hearted
.When I do occasionaly breeze through ..everyone seems to be at one anothers throats .I wouldn't dream of posting a serious Q in there and any serious Q's that are posted get lost in the mire.I would rather discuss my bunions with my butler.
Hi Lonnie

As mentioned sooo many times before - we do not have the resources to have a devoted chat category. We are looking at other options at the moment but until then a few threads in B&S for lighthearted banter surely is not so bad? If you visit the site during the evening it may look as if all is lost, but that is merely because we do not have a live moderator present.

Just a scroll down now I've seen questions on fake tan, sinuses, the everpresent "am I pregnant" Q etc..etc.

It may not be the same, but the site is growing and some changes are bound to occur as new people join.

As always, however, please report the troublemakers and abusive/profane posts.

xx AB ED
Hi ed, can you give us a wee bit more of a hint as to the options you are loking at ?
Ed, if you don't have a live moderator can't you just drag one of the dead ones out of the closet?
Some of the posts in B&S degenerate into the most awful argument and name calling and some of the remarks are too awful to repeat. " Light hearted banter "....that is an understatement .
personal messaging, dot.

Personal messaging? What good will that do? Most people who chat on here probably have MSN yet. even if they do use it, they still want to post chat type 'questions' on AB as well.
OH PM, that may work, yes that is an idea, well there could be a trial run and we could see what happens, it would allow those who have personal erm, messages to send, to communicate withoput taking up slots in the various catagories, yes, worth a go eh?
PM is 100% excellent. It enables otherwise public controversies to be settled privately, and friendhips to be created and cemented.

My experience of PMs elsewhere is almost wholly good, only one nasty exchange ever.

MSN, full-blown chatrooms, have completely different dynamics which don't suit many people.
