I want to give up dairy products but I'm worried about osteoporosis. What food/supplements should I take to make sure I get enough calcium?

The recommended daily allowance for calcium is 800mg (some poeple, such as the elderley, pregnant and breast-feeding women will need more). Good sources of calcium are tinned sardines and salmon, soya products, nuts, seeds and green leaft veg. You could take a supplement , too. (If you choose a calcium-carbonate formula, you need to take it with food.)
