Same as housewives.
I am between the hours of 6.30-9.30pm when Mrs B is out at work.
they have too much time on their hands obviously.
Mr Hellion and I sort of job share he works part-time and so do I so we both get the benefits. We did it when our son was born - we'd waited a long time for him and wanted to enjoy him while he was young.
He loves having the time with his son and can't wait for the holidays.

it`s called Homemaker these days
I don't like the term househusband or homemaker because they imply (to me) that the person wearing the label can do nothing more than 'keep house', and we all know there's much more to it than that.

I think that if a heterosexual couple choose for the woman to work and the man to stay at home and care for the kids, keep the house clean etc etc., then there should be nothing to stop them. Whoever is happiest/most capable of doing it should be able to - it's not always Mum.

Neither partner should be criticised for bucking the system and going against so-called 'expectations'.
or, stay at home mum/dad.

My job pays more so we decided as shift work is available to both of us that I should go back to work full time (after mat leave finished) and he should reduce hours so we dont need a child minder and can raise our kids ourselves. He is an absolute nightmare, I can do anything from an 8 to a 14 hour day and everytime I come home I am disappointed. I still do 90% of the housework, I still do most of the cooking. In fact somedays I wonder why I havent had a breakdown.
We are on the cusp of a break up and this is one of the resons why, will he change? I dount it.
In principal I have no problems with househusbands as long as they provide a good home for their family.
Well as I'm writing this my biatch, I mean, boyfriend is cooking up a feast in the kitchen. I'm all for them! :o)
Good on yer ...
There are various reasons why a man becomes the 'Househusband', and all depending as to why, I wouldn't criticise at all.

Not my cup of tea, but good luck to you if it suits.
i reckon they do a wonderfull job (as i am one too) ;)
I became one when wife started suffering health problems, but it really opened my eyes to how much effort you have to put in..work a whole lot harder now, then i ever did when i went "out to work".
Sp househusbands/housewives do a great job in my opinion
