How old were you when you got married? My friend and I were chatting (light heartedly) about the fact that we are never going to get married. Our other friends are doing it in their droves. We are both 27 and neither of us have met anyone we feel even remotely close to having walked down the aisle with. So are we getting to old and did anyone else start panicking about this as they head4ed toward the dreaded 30? Im not sure marriage is essential anymore but in my mind I quite fancy it.

First time round I was 20 and he was 22. To be honest I knew it wasn't right before the wedding..but I was too chicken to call it off! we divorced 6 years later.

2nd time round was last year, at the grand *old* age of 37...hubby was 40. I have never been happier ~ I so wish I had waited for Mr Pippa mk2 :o)
met at 15, got married at 24, our son was 7 and have had 2 more kiddywinks since, they are now 19, 6 and 3.

I wouldn't worry about it chick, what comes,,,comes!! (if you get my drift) I would pay a small fortune to be able to do what I want for a day!!! It ain't all it's cracked up to be.xx
I was 23 and Mr S .27.. been married nearly 35 years.
Marriage is not essential ...but I have no regrets about getting married .It's not a bed of roses by any means ..Like anything in life....it's what you make of it. My boys are 30 and 25 and still not married ... and the youngest still lives at home !!
I was 23 and hubby was 28. My best mate was 30 when she got married, and I have another friend who is nearing 40 and just thinking of getting married.
19, and no, I wasn't preggers!

We got married because it was what we both wanted and we're still here 27 years on. Mind you, we both agree that if we were there again, we'd have just shacked up and not bothered with the wedding.
i was 20 my hubby was 24 when we got married, we had our first child when i was 16 and weve been married for 18yrs

Hi,

I was married when I was 22 and my husband was 28 - we've been married for almost 8yrs and are still very happy

Most people think I was married quite young as most of my friends were 27+ when they married and most of them are coming up tp 30 and still show no inclination to get hitched!!

A xXx
i think that the age people have got married in the past changes as we generally live much longer, so i wouldn't be in any kind of rush.

there was a time when 'till death do us part', meant 30-40 years. now it could be 50-60

i am 34 and haven't even had a proper boyf for about 6 years!!

wait until you find 'the one' and be 100% sure.

it will be so much better than doing it because you feel you should and getting divorced a few years down the line
We met at 16, got wed at 19 and divorced at 50. Wouldn't have changed a thing though.
I'm 23 and can't imagine marrying for many years yet. I can't believe it when i hear of people my age marrying, I want to live a little first!
We not all dead and past it just cos we married you know,we still breath after the ceremony!!
