My teeth are mis-shaped and i have been told that my bite is all wrong. This is giving me facial pain. Some years ago, my dentist took a cast of my teeth and made a plastic cover that i was to wear during the night. However, it was horrible to wear, saliva gathered in it and i gave up. Are there any new devices on the market nowadays to correct my bite during the night?

Orthodontic treatment to re-align teeth can take significantly longer in adults and consequently tends to be more expensive.

There are many 'new' methods for this on the market, some of which are non-intrusive such as Invisalign. But you really need to get assessed by a dentist / orthodontist so that your particular needs can be met.

Thanks, but i dont want my teeth strainghtened, i would like to know about devices to wear to stop me grinding them during the night and giving me migraine/facial pain.
I grind my teeth really badly, have woken myself up with the noise loads of times. You can get a treatment where they put this white plastic type stuff on your back teeth, the idea being that the teeth will kind of slide over each other rather than gring. It's supposed to last for years, I got it done and ground it all of in about 6 weeks lol, got it done again, ground it off, they wouldnt do it again
Just a thought. Are you absolutely sure it's your misaligned teeth which are causing the pain and not a misalignment of your jaw?

I say this because I'm currently receiving treatment from a chiropractor for back problems & she told me it's surprising how many people have neck / jaw misaligments which cause problems further down the spine. I found this really surprising but also had to admit to her that I had been suffering intermittent toothache and was grinding my jaw and teeth during the night.

She has now done some manipulations to my neck and a couple of manipulations to the inside roof of my mouth. The toothache has disappeared and I'm not grinding my teeth any more. My whole jaw feels much more relaxed. Amazing !
Sorry, I misunderstood. There is some info on occlusion here which may help, but you are still best off seeing a dentist or a specialist.
