Im taking B vitamins, garlic, antihistamines and I have a mossie net but the little blighters are eating me alive. I look like a join the dot book. Anybody have any good tips to avoid them or anything that will help take the itch away? Thanks in advance x

hey hunny!! how ya doing? try rubbing a little bit of toothpaste on the bites esp the whitening one it helps to relive the itch. can u not get a repellent spray? xXx

Hey, i'm in the same boat as you! I was up the North of Scotland last weekend and the Midgies were terribal. I also look like a join the dot book! It's horribal. I was using a spray made by Avon! Its called skin so soft and insects like these hate it! Dont know if it works on Mossies but you could give it a try!

Too late if you're on holiday, but you need to use Avons Skin So Soft, Soft & Fresh. I use the body wash every day in the shower and then the body lotion. Two years ago I was eaten alive by everything that bites then I started using this and last summer I only had two bites all summer, even when I went to Florida.
pinkiefriend - great minds think alike!

Thanks guys

Posy Jo -How are you? x The repellant spray just isnt working at the moment but funnily enough we thought about trying the toothpaste ! Will give it a try tonight. Im getting on well thankyou in the jungle at the moment its crazy but beautiful !

Pinkiefriend I know its horrible and looking at them makes you even more itchy Im sure its partly psychological ! I hope yours are fading now x

I don't get bitten by anything as apparently I have slightly more acidic skin than a lot of people. They don't like really acid skin. The best think is to get one of those Jif squeezy lemons and put the juice on your skin. You shouldn't be bothered by them any more after that. That is, if you don't mind smelling of lemon juice!!

glad to hear ur ok. i think the whitening toothpaste has bicarb of soda in, i'm pretty sure thats why it works better than normal toothpaste altho normal toothpaste still helps xXx

I will remember that tip for next time Spudqueen - they dont do Avon in Thailand unfortunately !

Lemon juice might be sticky but its worth a whirl anything to avoid them now eurrgh

fluoride toothpaste is supposed to be good too.
spk get some tiger balm, its what i use when i'm in malaya, you'll stink but it works!

Mosquitos love me when we're abroad!

Last year, one of the bites became infected & I had to have it cut out at the root & ended up with 3 stitches in my arm.

So take care spk!

When my dad served overseas, he said that all the guys that drank beer didn't get bitten by the mozzies...don't know if the beer is the same now tho'....

Oil of citronella is a quite effective natural anti-mossie repellant, it is usually possible to get this stuff in most countries from pharmacies or health care shops etc...

You could also try oil of the neem tree which is a very good repellant, but where the citronella smells lemony and quite nice the neem smells bl**dy awfull.

hello!
try tonic water! when i was in india last march i drank gin and tonics and never got bitten once while my friend who wasn't got ALOT of bites

xx
