I just cannot understand how someone can justify harming innocent people because they disagree with animal cruelty. They have no argument at all if they are going to be nasty to human beings that makes them worse than those who are cruel to animals.

There you see I have asked a sensible question.

i dont agree with animal cruelty but then again i dont agree with cruelty to people. if you want to protest and stand up for what you believe in fair enough but do it peacefully. i totally agree with what you said about them being worse than than those who are cruel to animals.,

Intimidating vandals are just that, whatever their cause, and they are now being justifiably clamped down on. Good Job too !

MY God sexyrussian, you have excelled yourself with this question and i agree with you 100%!!!!! I don't agree with animal cruelty either but when it comes to testing drugs then i think it is a necessity. If an animal rights activist of a member of their family were in need of drugs that had been tested on animals, would they refuse to have them out of principle, I doubt it! To kill and maim human beings, to me is unacceptable. They are cowards and when they release these poor creatures into the wild, they are doing more harm to them than good. The cause is good but you don't go about it that way! I think testing for beauty is not acceptable and its heartbreaking.
I believe 100% in animal rights and I am very passionate about it. For instances when a beautiful animal is killed for something as pathetic as fashion. I know I wud neva think of harming another human. But for those who do it does not make them worse than the animal killers it maks them the same.

I can see both sides of the argument.I totally agree that animal cruelty is wrong but at the same time that does not mean that those that are cruel to animals(and often totally innocent people)should be attacked inorder to protect animals. In my opinion killing one human being is 10 times worse thna killing 1000 guinea pigs.

Thank you unruliejulie. It is my mature side coming out!LOL.I think most people will agree with me on this one.

I agree with unruliejulie that sometimes testing of drugs on animals is a necessity, however, there are many drugs trials now which are carried out on human subjects (whom are paid "expenses" of course ;-) )

I would never react violently towards a person who had inflicted cruelty on animals without a justifiable reason, however, I would protest as stronglyas I could!

I see .Well I guess since you are a lesbian I will have to agree with you.Yes I agree with girl-lesbian.
Lol, so all us lesbians think alike??! Take care u guys x
Question Author
No we just agree with each other I guess.

I understand the frustration the ARA's feel with current legislation, but violent protest against a law you disagree with is simply not acceptable.

I have stated before that I find it an anomaly that people who believe in the sanctity of animal life can then maim or lill people, it seems illogical in the extreme.

I am always suspicious of anyone who thinks their beliefs are so important that they must inflict (literally) their thoughts on others.

Legislation exists to keep us civilised - fight to change the law by all means, but you cannot threaten and maim people into agreeing with your beliefs - that action has no place in a civilsed society.

I think you will find that a significant number of ARA (or similar groups) followers are in it because they are anarchists and if they can't compete against the might of the government they go after soft targets instead. However I am going to be nit-pickie here because of the inference of the words ANIMAL CRUELTY. A man who beats or starves his dog(for example) is cruel but that is almost certainly not the case in a bona-fide lab. The last thing people who work in these labs want to do is to be cruel to animals.

no-one believes in animal cruelty its the individuals interpretation of cruelty.the white suit in the laboritory feels no more cruel than the slaughterman or farmer as he feels justified and is acting for the good of the human race.you wont find any jobs entitled animal crueltist.
likewise if a eskimo was to stand next to a canadian clubber and they each kill a cub using the club and nail technique how can we say the clubber is crueler cos of the way he treats the carcase not the living animal

baby chickens have their beaks chopped off restricted liberty fed high protein foods so that they will grow to full "table" size in six weeks, then a cost efficient machine kills, plucks and butchers them[ not always in that order]and delivers them with internet shopping to your fridge for 1.99- if you are willing to pay another couple of quid the little ******* can have a much better and ever so slightly longer life but most of the chickens sold are the 1.99ers. how can we in england permit this torture for the pleasure of eating cheap meat yet condemn others for whatever reason

lets find the petition , sign the petition get our own house in order before judging others with our false opinions on how to measure cruelty

and thats just chickens you cruel evil bargain hunters you
