Why do people act like 30 is so old and scary? A girl friend of mine truned 30 today and she is almost in tears.. she says now she is old and she asked me if she is still good looking or if she just looks old.. sounds dumb and shallow I know, but my brother is turning 30 also and he gets a little pi$$ed if you even mention it.. what is so wrong with 30? To me 30 of course is still sexy young and fun.. Do people only thing the 20's are the fun and sexy years?
Last winter I ran one morning with a lady who was 74, we ran for 90 something mins and she was hard to keep up with... and she had a great body on her.. so why do people make such a big deal about 30? should I trun into a plain prune at 30? lol

no doubt Dot.H, There are soooooooooooooooooooo many hot and sexy gals over 30... I feel girls get better with age.. there confindence changes for the good, they learn a sence a class, they have more knowledge, they have already gone through there bad make-up and awful hair cut stage.. Women over 30 seem to have it together inside and out..
I take each year in stride, and Im proud of my age (26) and never look back wishing I was 16 again or something like that.. I just cant understand why and how 30 has got such a bad wrap... look at Gwen Staffanie... she is knocking on 40 and lord is she a sexy gal...lol...
zeuz.. I think men seem to get much sexier with age.. when I was 21 I had such a cruch on a man that was 47 .. he was so amazing and offered things that men my age at the time could never offer.. I think older men are very attractive and that is why you see lots of older guys with much younger gals...

Your friend and your brother are either very vain or shallow or follows the media too much. There is nothing wrong with 30 or any other age.
I believe since this Government came to power with their emphasis on "Cool Britannia", which was all part of their "spin" plan, that the media has colluded with them and paid lip service to people in the teens and 20s. As a result of this, there has been a terrible increase in prejudice towards older people and aging generally. Look at the rise of the plastic surgery industry as an example. As result of this, not only do older people feel constantly ignored, but young people feel uncomfortable about aging.
Your attitude is very healthy - you accept people as they are and aging as a part of life.
As for me, I am nearly 60 and I hope to live to 100. Considering the alternative, I hope I accomplish my goal.
I turned 30 last june & was not looking forward to it at all but fortunately I grew up & seen sense lol

I wouldn't want to give any years back now, 10 years ago I thought I knew it all lol now I realise in fact I didn't.. cant wait to find out what I'll learn in the next 10 :)

hey jennykins lovely to have you back ! Im 28 this year and Im quite comfortable with getting older- I have way more confidence than I used to and know what I want out of life I wouldnt go back to being 18 again all the insecurity and mind games and figuring myself out etc no chance ! Bleeurgh cant think of anything worse !
