Does size matter?

Ive just read a survey report in the paper that 85% of girls won't date a man that's shorter than themselves.. is this true?

Does the height of a guy matter that much to you girls??

Sorry, but for me it's true. I'm 6ft 1, and wouldn't have a relationship with someone much shorter than me - I couldn't fancy them! I'm not really happy with my height anyway and walking down the street holding hands with someone shorter than me would make me really uncomfortable!!

I do prefer taller guys, 6'2"+. But on saying that my first boyfriend was 5'5" and I was with him for 3 years (Im 5'8")

I have had boyfriends who have been about 6' or more but that did not make a successful relationship! I currently really fancy a bloke who is about my height 5'8'' because he is funny and sexy, regardless of his height. It is the PERSON who is attractive not their height, weight, baldness or anything else!

Dont' get me wrong, I know I'm missing out on some great people - but other people limit themselves too - i.e. don't like hairy men. I couldn't be physically attracted to someone who was much shorter than me (i.e. they'd have to 6ft or more) and for me, physical attraction is a pre-requisite for a relationship.

i used to go out with a girl who was the same height as me, but when her shoes were on she must of been over 2" taller!!! i felt very uncomfortable,i felt like people were staring at me!!

rugeleyboy - my boyfriend is about 5ft10 to my 5ft8, when I've got my killer heels on I'm just a teeny bit taller. He's joked that he doesn't like me being taller than him but at the same time adores me in heels :-/

For my part I don't mind either way, I guess I prefer having someone to lean into when we're out and it works better if he's taller than me. I wouldn't feel comfortable dating a guy who was a lot shorter than me, mainly because I'd feel really big and unfeminine around him but isn't appealing at all.

I dont think girls really walk around with a hight meter, I think its just more of what your are naturaly attracet to.. I dated some shortys.. But I ended up with a very big man.. and Im a little person... A girl friend of mine who is tall I think 5.9 ended up with a guy that is 5.4 and they look so cute together and she said she never wanted a short guy.. but she just loves him so much..

My friend swore that she would never go out with anyone shorter than herself...... a couple of years later she is happily married to a guy who is at least 1-2 inches shorter than she is!
Personally I am only 5' 2" so I don't have that problem, but it really wouldn't mind about the height that seems totally superficial & it's definately the person you fall in love with. Anyway girls can always wear flat shoes not heels lol

I am nearly 6' myself, so I'm attracted to guys who are taller, but that's just at first sight. It wouldn't matter to me massively if it was someone I liked already, but I think I'd look stupid going around with a bloke half a foot shorter than me. Most of the men I work with aren't a lot taller than you, matto, so don't worry about it too much x

For me it's a case of "Quality" not "Quantity". I am slightly taller than my husband and had to throw away all my high heels when I started going out with him However, that was the best sacrifice I ever made so perhaps I'm in the 15% of females to whom it doesn't matter in the slightest. A kind and loving personality is far more important.

Im 5'3", and I wouldn't date a guy that was my height, Im just not turned on by small men. I like to feel protected. Just like Im not very attracted to thin men. BUT, that doesn't mean I wouldnt date someone that was short, and or thin. Im speaking just about first impressions and attraction. Without meeting a person directly and just going by physicality, I can say that I am attracted to certain qualitys, and unattracted to certain qualitys.
