Its not so common as guys having nipples, tongues etc done. I think a ring would look most masculine, and they are easily changed. But I guess a small silver bar would be ok too. As a female, I just adore piercings on a man. Hope he has a flat, toned stomach though?

I think on its own it might look wierd, but if he has other piercings too it should be ok.

i'm not convinced. this is how i'd see the situation:

  1. Meet a gorgeous guy in a bar.

  2. Go on a date.

  3. Decide you like him.

  4. Go home with him; start to get frisky

  5. Realise he has a belly piercing

  6. Book a cab and get the hellout of there.

I guess each to their own I am probably in the minority with my tattoo and piercing fetish!!

Tsk, don't be so judgemental. I' know a couple of guys who've had navel piercings, and it looks pretty good. If they have a nice flat tummy, of course!
You can change the ring or stud as often as you like after the piercing's healed. Navel piercings do tend to leave a small scar though when you take them out, but it's not very noticeable.
When I got my navel pierced it wasn't sore at all. Just like someone tugging the skin. However, everyone is different and what I found relatively painless, I've known others to find the opposite. Bear in mind that a canula is going through your skin, so some pain is inevitable. It's over in a few minutes and if you consider that 13 year old girls get their navels pierced, I'm sure that your male friend would have no trouble at all. x

I don't think there's anything wrong with it just because the majority don't have it done.

In fact, I'd say that was a bonus - tell him to get it done and be a pioneer in "men's belly button piercing".

You can bet your bottom dollar that it will be trendy for men to have their belly button pierced in 5 years time and he will be able to say he had it first.

Although I do agree with the poster above that he needs to have a reasonably toned tummy - would not be a good look on a beer belly! (which is why mine's not pierced lol)

sorry for being so judgemental guys....i just kinda think this is one left for the girls or gay men.

a guy at my work has it done and everyone thinks he is gay (i have no idea whether he is)

obviously if he is covered in other piercings and tattoos then it would be more acceptable

and can we stop all this talk of men with tight toned tummies... you're geting me all frisky for a tuesday afternoon!!

It wouldn't do much for me to be honest, I don't reckon it'd be a good look on a straight man, but if he's gay, what the heck.
Yeh,bit dubious I'd say & nipple piercing on men.My male gay friend has one & is very proud of it!!!Like GraceAnais,I'd be looking for the door.No genital piercings either please YUK!!!!
