Do you really need to buy special salt or can you use ordinary table salt?

I found this suggestion using Google:

"The home solution most commonly suggested is mixing one cup of warm water with one-quarter a teaspoon of both salt and baking soda for a rise for your nose. If you can get sea salt, I would do so, rather than using table salt."

Thanks for that gen2 - I don't especially relish the idea of trying it but I have sinus and ear problems and this is supposed to work so I thought I may as well give it a try!
I used to use this treatment years ago, and when my doc found out he went totally ape-s**t about the damage it can do to the delicate sinus membranes
