Hi curly sue, I did lighter life, I lost 6 1/2 stone in 5 months. It works, there's no getting away from that. But there are a few things to consider. I did not keep it off. I didn't do maintenance as the class was too far away for me to keep going to, and over the next couple of years put most of it back on.

It did not address my real problems with food, if you think you might have any sort of eating disorder and feel out of control with food, you need to seek proper behavioural therapy, LL made my binge eating worse as it was going from one extreme to the other. I'm certainly not saying that applies to everyone though.

I found it very easy whilst I was actually on it. One side effect they do not tell you about is the hair loss. Everyone in my group had significant hair loss. It does come back over time. But you should know about this, and I was cross they didn't tell us beforehand.

My councillor was brilliant, the diet works, but it wasn't a long term solution for me ..... I'm still looking for that!

hope this helps. x

I done the cambridge diet about 9 or 10 years ago,I lost 4 stone in just under 2 months but as soon as i started eating it started creeping back on again, you cant drink for every meal and then not expect the weight to go back on when you start eating proper food again,i lost too much too soon and nearly made myself ill, maybe the diet is better prepared now but if not, don't go there and on top of that it is damned expensive.
My pal did lighter life last January to July - she lost 9 stone during that time - YES 9 STONE. She has managed to maintain, but she does still attend the counselling sessions which are compulsory with lighter life. I would consider it myself but its just too much for me to afford at 66 a week. Good Luck
