I've just started a Pilates class & am really enjoying it but, does anyone know if this is any good for toning up the tummy area?

I've recently lost weight, but I've still got a flabbyish belly - is this the best way to get rid of it or would aerobics be better?

Ps, I'm really un-coordinated & unfit and find aerobic classes really difficult!!

Thanks xXx

The you should find you work better with Pilates. Its not so strenuous although you will need to be supple but that comes with practice. Yes Pilates is a good all over body exercise as it stretches and uses the muscles you have to work on those you want to strengthen.

But results can be slower than with aerobics but less energetic!!

Oh, and well done for losing weight - cant tell me your secret!! LOL

I read somewhere that aerobics is the best way to lose and tone the stomach area- its better than pull-ups. I'm doing Pilates and Aerobics at the moment but actually prefer aerobics as I feel like I've really worked out and burnt more calories that way. Pilates is good long term, as muscles take a while to build up, but if you want to lose weight fast, try aerobics.
Thanks andrea - im thinking of rosemary conoly as they are starting a new class near me in March but will bear in mind the slimming world too
