I have booked a session for myself and my partner for Friday - and we're looking forward to it. Just want to know if anyone has been in one, and if they enjoyed it - also did they feel the benefits after?

Hi bex! A couple of years ago my mum and I went in them, my mum had trouble sleeping and said it was the best sleep she'd ever had, shame it was only an hour! I thought it was very relaxing but didn't feel any lasting benefits. A good experience though, enjoy!

It depends on what kind of tank it is. I did one with my boyfriend at Nirvana health spa, it was a flotation tank but took up to 8 people. If there had just been me and my boyfriend it would have been brilliant, twinkly stars above the pool, relaxing music under water, but there were 6 other people in the pool, when you are trying to relax and some strangers foot is floating towards your head, it is not that relaxing at all, you just bump into people for an hour. I have been in it when there were just 2 of us and it was fantastic. The individual ones are much much better, and you do feel the benefits of it afterwards.

The conditioner they give us afterwards to get all of the salt out of our hair is wonderful.

Oh, top tip, do not shave your armpits, or go in with any fresh cuts, the salt really stings, oh and make sure your boyfriend isn't freshly shaved!! OUCH.

Oh that's too funny - the image of 8 people bumping into each other in a little tank! I can imagine the theme tune to Jaws - but instead of fins, little toes coming towards peoples faces!! On a serious note though - I can't wait, we go tomorrow, so will let you know how it goes.
