I have heard that the dentists in Budapest are far more reasonable than dentists in England.

I wonder if anybody has been and whether there is a dentist that they could recommend?

Thanks

I had dental treatment last year in Budapest. The work was done in October over a one week period although I had my initial consultation and pantographic X-ray earlier in the year (I needed some time to pluck up courage).

I needed three sets of bridges to span missing molar/premolar pairs of teeth in left and right lower jaw, and right upper jaw. The teeth had been extracted 30 or so years ago and because the bone had thinned I was not able to have implants (I am 51).

I also had a broken incisor tooth, top left.

So I ended up with: incisor tooth reconstructed with a titanium post core and crown, three bridges each with 4 crowns (6 pontine and 6 attached to teeth). A total of 13 crowns.

Adding in flights (Easyjet 70) and accommodation (B&B near the clinic) for a week. The total cost was around 2000. I estimate it would cost at least 6000 for the same work in the UK. The quality of the work is excellent and I have decided to go back to Budapest every year for annual check-ups.

The clinic I went to was Europa Dental in the centre of the city.

After huge shock at being quoted 1500 PER IMPLANT by my local dentistI, i did hours of researching dentists in Budapest, Warsaw, various in Hungary etc. I discovered by accident, a dentist in Palma, Majorca, offering implants at Euro 452 each. (All other add ons priced separately). Quote given in total for three implants, one bridging tooth and one veneer = total costs approx 1800.

Everyone made me really scared, saying 'you are so brave' etc, but I went anyway. I discovered a wonderful bunch of people in a swish Clinic who gave me their undivided attention. I had panoramic Xray and the actual implants took just 20 minutes. He is so experienced with implants, it was a doddle. He also allows only 3 months for the next addition of the teeth, but made a temp bridge to protect the implant sites and hide the ghastly gaps. It was totally painless and I was so relieved as I heard they take about two hours in Poland etc.
