Just been on BBC1. Not bad at all. Bit of a strange concept, but seems to have been written and produced well.

Were the 70s that bad though?

I enjoyed the programme - will definately watch again.

What aspect of the 70's are you asking if it was that bad? The fashion, the decor or the coppers? !!

Thought it was great. Can't wait for the next episode

I remember the 70's but don't remember things being quite so primitive. But I suppose its hard to remember just how we DID manage without mobiles, PC's etc!!

The police seemed a bit dumb though, no? Not quite the Sweeney....

Enjoyed the show, can't wait to see how it pans out.

I did, of course, mean definitely !! (doh!)
it was quite good, but it was brave of the writer to show us that he is potentially in a coma, or at least to confuse us enough. This is so like Lost and back to the Future! Check out the construction in progress billboard, but it is refreshing.
But what on earth was a Ford Zephyr doing in it? Did it travel forwards 10 years?
Ford Zephyr? I saw a Rover 2000 and a Mk III Cortina 2 litre GLS (Great car - I had One) I didn't see a Zephyr
Is the 'boss' cop (think his name was Philip Glenister) related to Robert Glenister (Hustle)? They do look alike.
I just double checked it! When they arrested the guy in the soundproofed house he was taken away in an apparently brand new black police Ford Zephyr 6 -made between 1962 and 66 and certainly not used by the police in 1973.
Does anyone know the name of the song and artist, that was playing in the booth that the bloke got pulled out of?
I thought it was a good idea, I don't think things were quite that primitive though, i.e. having to go through the operator and also that decor in his room, I remember the 70s and we did not all live in that sort of starkness! I think the hypnotherapist coming through to him is very interesting and it is certainly worth watching again. If I was him I would be straight off to the patents office to patent velcro or microchips or something !!!
beth11 - he song was Baba O'reilly by the Who.
Thanks smorodina, thats been bugging me ever since its been on.
lankeela - they are brothers.

Very, Very Good !!

First time for a while (since Vincent) that I have watched the 1st episode of a new series and found myself looking forward to episode 2. I do like John Simm, and Philip Glenister (who was also in Vincent with "Sir Raymond")

Thanks lynneuk - I just looked it up and was coming back on here to say I knew but you beat me to it!

Very entertaining programme, and conceptually a bit of a mindf(you-know-what). But then again, I found "Ghost" a bit like that too, if you please!!

(The music is right up my street too. I like "modern" music, but most of the best rock, it seems to me, is the older stuff. I counted Blue Oyster Cult, The Who and 2 Purple tunes.)

I was around in the 70's, and nothing seemed "bad" in everyday life per se - like now, we just existed, got on with it & had as much fun as we could. I think looking back from the perspective of 2006, the 70's can appear like the Dark Ages, but the pace of change basically since the microchip has been amazing.

I thought it was cracking, thoroughly enjoyable. All the elements worked well. Nostalgia, confusion, open university profs talking to you through the telly! Anything with John Simm in is always worth watching and he even managed to look cool in 70's clothes. Do you think early 70's was very different to late 70's?
Very good, did anyone notice that it was written by a former Eastenders writer?
does any one know the song that was being played as john simm and the "govenor" were walking their suspect through the police station and into the cells. all the other officers were around them applauding. Please help!!!! one of thise really bugging ones.
