I am posting this in Chatterbank as it has the most traffic.

If the links you post break AB - stretch outside the box, or otherwise don't work properly this may be a simple solution for those using a Windows machine.

When you right click to post the link on a PC/laptop, choose the option 'paste as' if you see it and click 'plain text'.  The link will then look like this https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ and not like this The AnswerBank - post questions and answers, and discuss topics of interest.

Some of us are having problems posting links at all since the onset of emojis not that editorial staff seem bothered

I know, which is why I am offering suggestions.  I'm fortunate in that I'm able to post links on all my Windows machines in all browsers, my Android phone and my iPad Pro, but Windows does need the 'post as' if I use Edge and some other browsers

I'm on iPad there is not an option to right click

Question Author

I did specify Windows machines.

I am now using my iPad. https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/

I just leave finger on the screen for a second where I want to post the link and the paste option pops up

Question Author

That was using the Brave browser, this is Safari https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/

I was going to say 'yay' and applaud and then I opened your link and it didn't seem right.  What a sad story.

Just copied this from BBC News which seems to have worked, thanks Barry  I'll see how I get on from here

this should be about a storm

Question Author

It is!  Thankfully all quiet here and nothing in the forecast.

Very sad Barry I should have read it though. Anyway thanks for you help

Question Author

You are very welcome, Margo.  What would AB be without links?  Free the links!

Thanks barry, but there's a more fundamental issue for me.

When I click in the answer box and then right click to paste a link, there's no PASTE option on my right click menu. (It's only on AnswerBank where I experience this)

I have to tab down several lines and then type a couple of blank spaces before the Paste option comes up and allows me to add my link

Question Author

I haven't experienced that, newmod.  What browser do you use?

Chrome, barry.

Use ctrl-V.
