Is it all in the mind? Or do you think that people take different lengths of time to reach different levels of addiction and there should be better clarification of these levels rather than lumping them altogether?

It's in the mind - but the mind is stimulated by physical cravings for the addictive substance. Like the proverbail piece of string - lengths vary from individual to individual, and that makes it very hard to offer any meaningful measures to use. Circumstances and physiology play a major part in all addiction cycles - it would be impossible to impose arbitrary measurements on such a nebulous concept.

There are all levels of addictions, some come about because you have trained your body into accepting it like food cravings etc but the more dangerous addictions to something like hard drugs come about because your body becomes dependant upon the drug, to the point where if the addictive substance was not taken you could die.

I also know how long a piece of string is :-)
