What a lovely gentle lady you are Smo, just read about you trying to save a pigeon with a broken wing that sadly died, I’d imagine it had an affect on you?
Selfless acts like that says you have a lovely nature, I have a terrible fear of birds, particularly pigeons but I couldn’t hurt one or any animal , poor thing must have been dehydrated lying in hot sun for so long, Smo, you did your best, kind lady xx

One of its' wings was clearly damaged and we managed to catch it but obviously couldn't keep it in the warehouse. It was a racing pigeon with a numbered green ring. As we were taking it outside, it broke free and futtered onto the top of a stack of pallets. Unfortunately, this had also been observed by a stray cat, that shot up the pallets, siezed the pigeon and shot of with it in it's mouth. Cest la vie. I did phone the the birds number to the racing pigeon website.
then you would like me Bobbs - I rescued a little robin last year I think after it was knocked down. I got out of my own car and wrapped some kitchen roll around it, brought it home and fed it some water. It flew upstairs and I managed to get a photo of it sitting on the sill and then it flew into bedroom and out the window. Wish I could post photo but haven't a baldy clue how to.
I had a similar predicament yesterday afternoon. A pigeon was sitting in the middle of the road outside my house. I saw it attempt to stand up, and then it flopped back down.
Didn't know what to do for best but I knew I had to get it away from the middle of the road, so I went out to pick it up, while I pondered on what I should do. As I got close, it flew off into a tree down the street.
OH said it was best to leave it to its own devices. :0(

Ah JJ and Windy that’s so humane of you as well, I’m afraid I’d run the other way because of my fear of birds, probably not the Robin though, my friend swears he Mum comes to her in the guise of a Robin, especially if she’s upset about something, a tiny Robin often appears on her back sill in the kitchen
