I had my first one for a few years last night. I met a very attractive, slim but curvy, young blonde and once I had explained that she was in a lucid dream we got on very well together! Very strange experience, and I find it difficult to know what enables such states of mind.
Does anyone else here have such dreams?

Once I dreamt that I was in a bunk down the back of a 747 and we were about to ditch in the sea. The dream made me wake up and I was in a bunk down the back of a 747. That was a bit scary.

/I also hallucinate on dropping off or waking up/

Me too Mamya. Especially during times of stress. They are short and sharp. But very real. Usually involving Mr Lottie, the dog or one of the cats.

I also often dream (not lucidly) about me flying a passenger jet along a road or low over the countryside, with the ability to steer it although no idea how I do it. Seems to be a fairly common dream by the sound of it.

I wonder why the aircraft dreams seem to be common? Both hubby and I have worked for airlines in our younger days and I wonder if that was why - but perhaps not.
Athiest. I loved my bunk down the back of the 747. One time I found a hatch down there and I opened it. Behind it was the locator beacon. It was so strange to look at that as it was only going to be used if we ended up at the bottom of the ocean or something.
When we dream we're on a different plane, innit.
Question Author
pat; I never worked on planes and I am terrified of flying. But the flying dreams are lovely and not scary at all.
I go through phases of not seeming to dream...or at least not remember. The dreams that I do recall are always dark and brooding...the sun is never shining. I'm usually in a city...that might be familiar or known to me. Not residential and there's never anyone about. The path/street I'm on is narrow and it can sometimes *feel* as if I'm drifting over the surface. I don't know if I can control what is happening, I've never tried.
I used to have falling/flying dreams. Even when I was young the sun was not felt in my dreams.
I used to have sleep paralysis but don't seem to get that these days. I still dream that I'm falling and jolt. If I watch something I'm really into I sometimes have dreams about what I've watched.
I often dream that I need to have a pee .
I go to a toilet ( not in my house ) but a public toilet or a toilet in a store .

However the toilet is so filthy that I go from one to another trying to find a clean one .

Or the toilet is not private enough .

I then wake up bursting to have a pee
Bazile, I have those dreams too.
Question Author
Bazile, I also have the pee dream from time to time, and sometimes I find a horrible dirty loo and let it all rip. But then I wake up and find that I haven't wet the bed, thank goodness!
Oh goodness, I used to have dirty toilet dreams. Back when I was going to art school in NYC, I was commuting and sometimes needed the loo in the train station. My dreams were about that loo...water ankle deep, and a long wait to 'go'. A sense of it all being absolutely filthy.
A variation on the one I've described is me going to have a pee in a public toilet .

I start to have a pee but I can't continue.
I have to stop because it feels as if something is holding me back

I suppose it's the subconscious holding me back , because I then wake up bursting to have a pee
Brilliant best answer. A good thread Atheist! But my dreams last night were horrific. Too horrific to recap!! I'm now recovering with cheese and biscuits for breakfast!
Lovely song Canary. Thanks.
I have sleep paralysis occasionally although they are nowhere as bad as they used to be - I recognise what is happening and tell myself to go back to sleep.

I often dream I am being chased by a gorilla and try to hide in a phone box.
The only lucid dreams I have are scary ones where I know I am dreaming and make a huge effort on my dream to wake myself up to escape.
Barry, that has conjured up a lovely picture in my mind!! :0))
