I've just heard about a condition that is affecting a man of 29. His spine is growing non-stop and it has become so severe that he is unable to turn his head to look at his sides. What is this condition and is there a cure for it?

I remember that Jimmy Hill, ex footballer and manager had something similar, but not as serious, his chin kept growing, and if memory serves me right, he had to go into hospital to have some chinbone shaved off, don't know if they can do something similar with the spine, sounds nasty.
