As above - if you were to be offered counselling/talking therapy - would you consider an American's viewpoint. And being charged £50. No I'm not talking about my American just generally. Thanks

I think if I were having tt I'd only be considering myviewpoint. And besides I don't know any Americans so couldn't consider their viewpoint anyway
Reverse question….
Why would you not consider an American’s viewpoint?
talk to a total stranger and be charged fifty quid? not for me
I don't understand your question. Do you mean would I consider going to an American counsellor/therapist?
‘I don’t understand your question’

Not unusual in this ABers case.
Depends how long the therapy/counselling session lasts. Is it £50 for an hour, a whole day?
The little I know of Americans and their world view would make me say no ta.
I never thought I would even consider counselling but it was a big help to me years ago when I went through a harrowing experience and didn't realise I had PTSD. Thankfully my employer paid for it.

I was very sceptical before that.
Is there a purpose to the question?
Surely it would all depend on what one was undergoing the therapy for?
If you have an aversion to Americans, it might not be such a good idea.
So, JJ, if you can clarify….
1. Is it per hour or per day?
2. What opinion or experience prompts your implied distrust of Americans?
3. Are they qualified or just a random ‘American’?
4. Is there some relevant background to this or is this just another random thing that popped into your head?

TIA. X
I think you have to be very receptive to counselling for it to work
I think good ones are very few and far between
Not sure of the American connection but having a therapist is very common in the states in comparison to here.
Would I then no BUT sometimes when desperate we try anything.
I had counselling for free (NHS) and gave up after one session.
An American, eh, Dave?
I would talk to William Devaney - he seems quite good in the Jesse Stone movies!
What about one our Canadian cousins? Nearly Americans but they're not.
I wonder what the world might be like if the French had prevailed in America instead of the British.
Like Canada, but warmer.
If that's for an hour with a qualified therapist or counsellor, I'd say it's cheap.
And whether or not they are American shouldn't come into it...I'm assuming the sessions are here.
