I don’t ,burgers in buns,sausages etc, eughhhhh
I’d much rather have a sit down meal any day , as soon as the sun shines the smell permeates the air, just when I was away last weekend, we were told of 6 people in one of the cabins brought with them some of those portable BQs you buy in a supermarket, they got so drunk and left them outside to ‘fizzle’ out ( log cabin?) it ignited and went up in seconds, they escaped, the two innocent dogs they had with them perished in the fire!!

Is this about food or fire safety?

Both Douglas ;0)))
I am always worried the food is not cooked properly & long enough.
I had a bbq once & I had pre cooked the chicken drummers in my oven first but ended up thinking, what's the point?!?.
Like you, I prefer to have a nice sit down meal instead of trying to balance a plate of food & drink.
I don't mind the odd burger but I don't really like eating outdoors. I think folks have died from carbon monoxide poisoning after leaving the instant BBQs smouldering indoors.
I love Bbq food.......in fact I love ANY food.

Log cabin weekend?......forget it.

‘ My Sharona’ ( sorry can’t help it :0)))
Exactly , I’ve been to many where the chicken is pink inside or the burgers are burnt to a crisp
The traditional BBQ flavour is just so worth it.

Hot tub sqad? Go on,you know you wanna, haha
Hot tub, bloody kids, garrulous plebs, barrackroom jokes, barmaid laughter ( present company excepted),boozy rowdy nonsensical chatter keeping me awake.........Pass.
Call me a snob.

It’s like “ Call me a Taxi”
Okay, you’re a taxi, ;)
I like it but cant be bothered with the hassle. Just cook food normally in the kitchen and bring it outside.
See what I mean about the Jokes ?......lol..

And that’s only on here, imagine what goes on in a hot tub with a cold Prosecco in ones hand;0)
I love BBQ food and always enjoy a good BBQ. I agree the smell is annoying if coming from others gardens, but you don't notice it if it's one you are at. That's awful about the poor dogs. Got themselves out, but not the poor dogs, my dog would have been MY priority !
Question Author
Totally selfish indeed Shirley , we were told the poor dogs were caged x
Oh hell Bobbs, I wish you hadn't told me that. Why cage your dogs if you take them on holiday ?? I can only hope the smoke inhalation got them first before the dreadful flames.
I like it too Bobbs but never get it. I don't have a BBQ but some of my friends have the gas one.
Nope, dislike bbq food.
What we do (although not for quite a while) is have a bbq without a bbq, just cook/prepare everything inside and then either put it all on a table outside in the shade, buffet style, or put it on our large kitchen table buffet style.
The only bbq I ever enjoyed is one catered by proper chefs. The meat (not a burger or sausage in sight) was cooked to perfection and all the accompaniments totally delicious.
