I'd feed my cat 1 pouch daily, mixed with dry food, about 4-5 times a day.. I do give her treats in between.
How much food do you feed your cat daily?
Do you mix, wet and dry foods together?
I've got three cats, who get fed on a 'rolling buffet' basis. i.e. if their bowls are getting near to empty, I put food in them.
They've always got both pouch food and GoCat Crunchy & Tender biscuits available to them and they get a daily treat of Dreamies (plus occasional bonus treats, such as hot chicken from a supermarket rotisserie counter).
One cat is 'normal size', one is as thin as a rake and one is massive ;-)
I'm not sure, as Cleo steals Tubbys food. Then I end up throwing out what she leaves in her own dish. I'd say 1 and a half to 2 pouches each plus dry food as wanted. But I only put tiny amounts of dry food out at a time.
Your cat is still pretty young if I'm not mistaken.
I also find that if you place the food bowl in a different location she'll enjoy it all the more, it's something to do with the cats hunting instincts.
My cat has wet food in the morning and always has dry food available. He gets fed ham, chicken etc far more than he should and prawns and tuna occasionally. He’s v spoilt and manipulative and he’s fab :)
"My cat will not eat human meats"
whilst re-assuring you won't be found dead and half eaten by your moggy, it's slightly worrying you know it won't eat human meat!
Mine has about 2 pouches a day (but would have more if she could work out how to open the pouches) and always crunchy stuff available
I think the answer falls into the how manipulative the little horrors are to be honest. I have taken to splitting one pouch between my two cats, as they eat half of that each, leave the rest and then in another half hour or so, demand fresh food. I try to resist them, but they are experts at the waiting by the food bowl game and know how to get their own way!
Overall they get around 3 pouches a day plus all the dried food they want.
one cat has about 5 pouches but the other mainly exists on fresh air!
howebver this one does love Aldi cat Pate half tin at a time plus dry food on it too . The other wont touch dry food.
Basically if they are othewise healthy feed on demand seems best approach.
