In a group discussion on an outing this subject came up. Some of us have not really had any relationship since turning 50. So not sure how it is dealing with men our own age. Many woman start looking for the younger guys. The same thing as a female some say they loose their libido. At this age we want to keep the excitement going.

I suppose by "intimacy " you mean sex and I will continue on that assumption.

Mama is correctly......it varies but on the whole, men need exciting, satisfying and innovative sex, preferably with the wife or partner,but if that is not available then a mistress or prostitution.
If you are a woman couldn't care about sex and have a partner who also isn't interested then you may well be on to a stable relationship.
However....if one of you needs sex and the other doesn't then,as the song goes "there could be trouble ahead"

In your sixties. Intimacy or sexual Congress diminishes for many. We’ve been together faithfully for 49 years.
I still find her attractive, but though we still love one another we seem to have drifted away from the physical side. Separate bedrooms, has been nice. We still play, laugh, go out together. Several of our friends are likewise. One couples love life ended in their 50s.
