G'morning emmie.......If Shelter has Not given you a definite date for collection, you could consider another Charity. Click the following link for a list of Charities in your area :- https://www.camden.org.uk/charity-shops/ Hans.

i have tried my usual British Heart Foundation, but they aren't operating on collecting as yet. I have about 17/18 large black bags of good stuff, much unworn.
You could try contacting a homeless charity and ask if they will collect.
Question Author
such as, Crisis perhaps or shelter?
Yes, either of those and even if they won't collect they might be able to point you in the right direction.
Question Author
i have no means to get the goods to a shop, as i don't drive. BHF are usually the ones i donate to buy they aren't collecting for at least another month...
Try the Salvation Army. They’re usually helpful.
Question Author
thanks Naomi i will try them
Question Author
i have e mailed Crisis, and the Salvation Army, hopefully someone can help..
Question Author
i have e mailed Shelter too, and they have a shop ten minutes away from me, hopefully they could collect, will see.
Odd. The BHF are collecting a mattress from us next week. NW Kent.
A hospice might be able to help. The one down here collects.
If we receive donations at the charity shop I volunteer at we have to quarantine the items for 24 hours (I think) and that causes major storage issues for us.

Hopefully, it won't be long before that changes.

Hans.
I'm in the same boat. The local BHF only seems to collect furniture, not clothes. I went into my local SCOPE and left my phone number, but they've not called back. I'd packed up a lot of bags of clothing and books before lockdown. I've got more but can't really sort and bag until what I've got is gone.
My first thought was the Sally Army, but also our local hospice will arrange collections as will another local charity caring for homeless people and families 'on the brink'.
Have you tried the Red Cross
Jourdain...when I worked for the homeless charity, we never were able to collect donations. We just didn't have the manpower. In a way, I'm surprised any do.
...or are able to.

Oh to be able to edit!
