I think there are too many dogs about, surely they can’t be environmentally friendly!

You'd have to ask her that, she and her Husband most certainly love their children - that is very clear.
I guess it's a bit like a tattoo. You have one the rest seem less painful.

The human mind, for both genders, is programmed to protect itself by not remembering and being able to re-experience pain.

You can't re-experience trapping your finger in a draw, but you can re-experience the last kiss you had.

To prevent any mum only ever having one child ("I'm not doing THAT again!!!), the memory of labour fades away.

Something I am grateful for, I am my parents' third child!!!
Mental issues. And a total lack of responsibility to the human race.

It's a pity someone can't think of a way to prevent this sort of selfish breeding. If it could be picked up early enough such sufferers could be institutionalised away from opportunity to overpopulate with their genes on an overcrowded world.

(Perhaps if the parents were annually taxed for having kids over a limit of two, with a sliding scale getting greater with each, it might give pause for thought.) Not making them some sort of celeb on Sky news might be an idea too.

hmm how true - how true
both are for life

or - else it is very difficult to get rid of either - ter daaah
Old_Geezer - Who's a little ray of sunshine then!!!!
I don't care how many children people have, I do resent though that the state (you and I) has to prop them up financially. I know he works to support his family, but there will be a significant input from the state. And on the Labour Manifesto it was stated the child tax credits would be enhanced to cover all children, not just the first two.
Institutionalised? You mean locked up O_G?

Crikey.

I doubt it... but it's natural ti prioritise the baby over it. And gents, it is not "forgotten" lol. Just less important, once you are holding your baby x
APC - my nephew has 3 children - they only get tax credits for the first two

So speaks a man.
^^ :-)
//What is the two-child limit?
The two-child limit, which came into force on 6 April 2017, means you’ll only receive the child element of child tax credit for up to two children.

It applies to anyone with more than two children who are or were born after this date – the child element will continue to be paid for all children born before 6 April 2017.

If you were to have three or more children after 6 April 2017, you’d receive tax credit payments as if you only had two – you will not get an additional amount of tax credit for additional children.//
There a lot of women who just can't be without a baby in their lives and adore babies. And then when they can't have any more, their female children produce more babies for granny to adore. I never could understand this, but it's very common.
Well, yes... the instinct to have a baby is the strongest there is. It is the only one we have, which is life-threatening and not just self-preservation, so it has to be.
jennyjoan. I know. But Labour were proposing to make tax credits available for all children. But fortunately they lost the election.
I had a baby Pixie because I wanted a child. I loved my baby and my child with all my heart. I still do and he is 36. But I never had that strong maternal longing of wanting a baby and never coo-ed over babies. I don't yearn for grandchildren at all.
"I never could understand this, but it's very common."

Women are made to be maternal.
By whom ?
I'm sure you did, apc... everyone is different, of course, but I can pretty much guarantee if a grandchild came along, you would also adore him/her with all your heart as well... x
