I was just checking whether or not capital letters appear in question titles, if you don't actually put them in.

They do.
My question title on this thread was typed without capital letters but they have appeared when it was posted.

When this site was about to be revamped some time ago, the Ed asked us to vote on whether to retain the auto-capitalisation of initial letters in titles. We voted against. The Ed said that AB's techies would take note. They haven't!

(It works the other way too. Capital letters that aren't at the start of a word in a title are reduced to lower case. So a title typed as "BBC and eBay" gets rendered as "Bbc And Ebay". Grrr!)
