I have an L-Reg Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Automatic.
I've not had any real problems with this since I bought at the beginning of the year, but ever since the weather has turned bitterly cold in the morning (the need to defrost screens) I've been getting a problem with the speed boost light on the dashboard.

The problem is the S light keeps flashing and the car hardly has any power in acceleration (as if the handbrake is on) - However it reverses with no problems at all. So far I have been able to fix the problem by turning of the ignition and restarting the enging. However this morning it took 5 attempts to restart the engine before the problem went away?

Any ideas what this could be - and will it be expensive to fix?
