Hi all, my mum was taking an antidepressant for about 3 months and after those 3 months they were not working, on Monday the doc changed them to another one and she is suffering really bad panic attacks and nightmares and wants to go back onto the others, when she was taking the first ones she broke them in two and only took half ( i told her not too ) now she wants to go back onto the 1st ones but take a whole one, can she just stop one and start the other without a break, she wont go back to the gp as it takes a lot for her to go anyway as she is petrified of docs and hospitals. Any help please

convince her to at least phone the GP and explain her predicament - it shouldn't be left for you to sort out.
three months isn't a long time in essence, sometimes they take quite a while to see an improvement, also
breaking them in half is self defeating. as i said a phone call to the doctor may put her mind at rest, so to speak.
Phone the GP yourself, say what has been going on and ask for a home visit.
