Hey guys and girls, i need a new hairstyle but im skint. Is it true that places like Toni & Guy and Vidal Sasoon offer free or very cheap cuts if you offer your head as a hair model for trainees to train on?

some do, why don't you phone up and ask. You may not get a choice of what is done though!!
Yes, most do as the students need people to practice on, I used to do it all the time and often got very good cuts. Usually free then as well.
We have a Saks Academy (student hairdressers who have finished their basic training and are learning professional Saks techniques) in Darlington and they offer colours for �10 and cuts for �5. I went the other day and I could specify loosely what I wanted doing and left the creative bit up to the professionals!

I don't bother going to any other salons now as Saks (and I assume other academies) are just fantastic for the price.
yes its true - however be prepared for it to take longer than a normal cut/colour would cost

Yes but they want to do whatever is in fashion at the moment, the one and only time I went it was all angular scary cuts and I haven't been back to a Toni & Guy since!!!
