Are We Ever Going To Get Away From Gay Tv

Sorry guys. Am quite traditional, but I accept everyone I do. As they are whatever they are they are whatever WE are.
But,
Why is TV full of non heterosexuals. Mainly gay people these days.
Is it only me that feels this?
Well me and my husband that is?
Why is hetrosexuallness not being celebrated the same way it's like tables have turned big time?
Just my opinion....

TV has always been full of Gays. I remember when we only had one TV Station in the UK (BBC) and it was tantamount to a Gay Club where Gays appointed Gays to jobs within the organisation.
Perhaps the same prevails nowadays. In fact I am surprised at the the extent of people who are gay 'men' and, despite such fact, endeavour to portray true masculinity by growing beards. Have a think about Chat Shows and News programme presenters. It's Not only Gay men who are in TV, there are quite a lot of Lesbians hosting programmes.
My attitude is that I can always change to another Channel as there are dozens of programmes. Admittedly, most are rubbish, but one is still able to tune into AB for serious entertainment and discussions.

How is homosexuality 'in your face', frilly? I don't see much 'gayness' on tv. Perhaps we watch different programmes.
When I was at school anyone suspected of being gay was hounded and bullied. At my son's school a few boys were openly gay. I think it's good that people can be themselves. They don't put it in your face.

Does it matter as long as they are talented and/or can present an excellent chat show, Hans......I don't give a fig who they sleep with as long as they can entertain....
I watch what I choose to watch on TV...a person's sexuality doesn't determine what I watch.....in fact I'd be a poor and shallow human being if it did.....
As for the beard comment......men grow beards because they want to......not to exhibit their masculinity.......

I am unsure whether you object to gay people on television, or whether you perceive television as promoting homosexuality in a way you find unacceptable.
If it’s proving an issue in either, or both cases, you simply need to be more selective in your viewing habits.
There are multiple channels to view, and an off switch – no-one is compelling you to watch TV that you don’t like.
I am sure everyone has aspects of TV that they don’t like – I for instance don’t like cookery programmes, or Michael McIntyre, and so on and so on, so I simply avoid those shows, which is simple.
I doubt you will gain much sympathy for simply not liking various aspects of TV, that’s the downside of choice for everyone.

Now if you had chosen your words more carefully and instead of 'feel' you had said 'appear' , I would have ignored your comment. However, even then you would have been reading me wrongly.

Getting through life is hard work and at the end you are just going to die and, eventually, be forgotten.
Our society is much improved from, say the 60s when I was born. Gays were hounded, young pregnant girls were forced to give up their babies by their parents or, worse, forced to undergo an abortion. Going back in time further women were sent to psychiatric hospitals for getting pregnant - some remained there for many years.
If we want people to tolerate our idiosyncrasies then we must at least try and be tolerant of others who are different from us.
Being homophobic, not liking cats, being uneasy in the company of those from another culture is not the problem. Doing bad, evil or hurtful things to them is not nice.

If they want to get married fine, but nothing looks funnier to me, than two men/women at the alter, saying their vows to each other, just looks weird!
