Should you not be seeking professional medical advice from your own doctors on this? What about ringing the out of hours doctor?

thanks islay for your answer - i have an appointment for another x-ray on Thursday so will ask then - meanwhile will keep sling on.
Ask on Thursday for full and clear instructions on how to gradually build up the use of that area Jenny.

Hope you heal soon.x
Sorry to sound harsh but nobody here knows how bad the breaks are or if there could be other damage caused by you moving about. What would happen if someone here said yes its ok to take it off and you do further damage?
I will assume that you have seen a doctor and have had it X-Rayed.
OR that you suspect it may well be broken........and from your post it would seem that if fractured at all, it will be a simple fracture.
A sling is all that is required and it should be kept on for about 5-6 weeks.
No big deal.
Keep it in collar/cuff until told otherwise by medical/nursing staff. I hope it's less painful JJ .

well can't get to sleep for love nor money tonight. Am upset to see massive bruising on shoulder, back of shoulder and complete left breast.

everybody has been so kind tho which makes it easy to get through - sista has been brilliant. xx
Keep it in the sling. That will help the pain, then wait for Thursday. Keeping it in a sling until then isn't going to do you any damage.
I echo Ummm's advice.
^^^^ Having said that, it might be a good idea to do such things as wiggling and clenching fingers and arm muscles to keep them active.
The bruising will be spectacular, try not to worry about that - glad you are being treated with kindness.

had to and see how collar bones are on thursday - indian said in broken english - collar bone has moved - yes I said bones are broke - ah no no - we have found your shoulder blade is broken too along with the collar bones.

I was confounded and speechless so couldn't ask like why was this not picked up in the first x-ray. - just picked up my coat and walked. - he did nothing he could do unless I accepted a operation. i just walked as i didn't want to hear any more bad news.
I'm sorry, Jenny, but that is just daft. Why on earth would you do that when you clearly needed to have treatment?
So no Physio arranged if you just walked out then?
Question Author
no mamy the walk out wasnt like that - it was all so impersonal - he couldn't care less - anyway what i plan to do - try and let it heal naturally this is what happened last time and I did get on (after a fashion) - was disgusted that the shoulder blade wasn't picked up.

surely the x-ray should have examined all round the shoulder you know front and back for goodness sake
Question Author
i will go through physio boring as it is - i don't know anybody who has had successful shoulder operations

they told me last time that if i was to have operation - only difference would result in a little less pain but no more movement. stuff that. it is my arm that I want to move
Question Author
i have to go back in 4 weeks for another x-ray.
Sometimes radiographers do miss things first time round, I've had that myself - in the end it's your body and your decision.
Question Author
persoally mamy if I was doing that job - i would make xray go went round the shoulder - front - side - and back . but then i was pretty thorough in most everything i do.
And probably was never under the same pressure as NHS staff, Jenny.

Coming across as impersonal could also mean they were busy...
