I've had lots and they are fine. It is very dignified considering, and way less stressful than a smear. You lie on your side with your knees bent, and they give you some sedation. You feel nice and woozy and they put the camera in- I didn't even feel it. I watched it on the TV screen cos it was fascinating, but you don't have to! They take tiny biopsies as they go round,...

Mikey...you are forgiven....I knew you were putting some fun into it.I am off now for something to eat...oh dear..what though???
You have my sympathy, I have been for a sigmoidoscopy twice now. That only entailed having the diet for 2 days each time and that was bad enough. I did stick to the food on the sheet from the hospital though, I was too frightened by the bit that said 'if I was not completely empty I would have to go through it all again'
Odd.
Two humorous posts intending to lighten the mood of the thread....one removed and the other still remains.

back to you when done....
I had one once; he stuck it up my nostril and made me gag as it reached my throat. I don't recall any special food limitations beforehand. (Found some evidence of acid reflux problems, gave me a prescription for tablets. Unconvinced it cured the issue but it hasn't been quite so bad since.)
Sqad....I am quite happy for my post to be removed as well, although it was only an attempt at levity.
mikey....I understand....but so was jackdaw's.
Level playing field an all that.
Yes, I fully appreciate that point Sqad.
I didn't see jackdaw's removed post but kloofnek clearly did and took in the spirit in which it was intended. Perhaps it can be reinstated.
bhg....if that is Kloofies desire, than I would support that as well !
mikey - in her post at 16:00 she says she likes his joke.
Question Author
I thought Jackdaws joke rather funny, did not offend me at all...made me laugh!!!

After all, when one gets to my age ,we have heard it all !!!!
Forgive me Tilly, I cannot even claim a slip of the finger "M" and "T" are far apart on the keyboard.
Kloofnek, I found the whole procedure slightly embarrassing and slightly uncomfortable, no pain involved at all. Good luck with the diagnosis.
