Why would coming off citalopram stop my annoying cough?

Coughing is listed as a side-effect of Citalopram.
It would appear that one of the annoying side effects of Citalopram is a cough.
Now if this is the case with you, then sopping the tablets may relive the cough.
Jo,..is it listed as a side effect for all SSRIs. cos Mags needs to be given a replacement immediately and not left without anything :(

Thank you all for your input.I am actually off the pilll for the Summer months (weaned off gradually) and start again in Autumn.I've been given an inhaler to tryto inhibit the cough, fingers crossed it works! No Best Answer given as I was glad to get any at all!
