i have a very healthy diet and dont use salt in my cooking or on my meals, i eat lots of fresh fuit and veg, and drink 2 litres of water a day and cook as much as i can from scratch.

But lately i have been getting bloated and its affecting my weight loss, is there any foods i should avoid that causes bloating, or is there anything that can help get rid of the bloating?

i have polycystic ovarian syndrome but have never had this as a side affect before and a recent check up confirmed that my pcos is under control and not getting worse.

Not sure about which foods you should avoid, but aloe vera juice is said to be very good for reducing bloating. You should avoid fizzy drinks too.

Please.....please.....please for God's sake don't panic
but go back to your doc ASAP for another check-up.
I've no idea of your age but I recently lost my kid sister to ovarian cancer.  She wondered about bloating and generally feeling "out of sorts" but just put it down to her age [49]. By the time she did something about it, it was too late.
I apologise 100% if this answer causes you distress but please go see the doc.
Best wishes.

aw ianess, how terrible for you, im so sorry for your loss

I only had a check up 2 weeks ago and that included a scan on my ovaries, and they check thoroughly so i do think it is something i have eaten, i am 25 by the way, and i wouldnt say i feel out of sorts, just the bloating.

shazabell, i only drink fizzy drinks once a week as well! lol and that wasnt last night, its tonight actually in my vodka lol

i will try and find some aloe juice. Thank you for your help bith of you x

I have the same problem and found eliminating wheat from my diet very helpful, try it yo have nothing to lose
I have PCO's and I find that certain foods do cause me to bloat. I find that if I drink more than 1 cup of coffee a day I am bloated the day after, also I cannot tolerate lager and if I eat rice, I find it causes water retention which makes me feel bloated. Try keeping a food diary and mark on it the days when you feel bloated and see if there is a particular food that could be the trigger.
Hi boobesque. There are a number of things you can do to stop yourself feeling bloated. First of all youre doing great with the fruit veg & water! A great thing to do is have some natural bio live yogurt or one of those bio live drinks every morning. They help settle the bacteria in your stomach, which are what cause the bloated feeling. As shazzabel mentioned, aloe vera juice is great, it sorts out your digestive tract (plus its great for your skin!) you can get this from Holland & barrett or most health food shops. Also the order in which you eat your foods can play a role, if you have fruit for breakfast then make sure this is the first thing you eat. Fruit breaks down much faster than other foods so if its sitting on top of other stuff in your belly it starts to break down and then just sits there (yuk!) also try and avoid refined foods  -  basically anything sugary or made with white flour. Go four wholegrain breads & pasta, or pasta made from millet or rice (you can get this in Holland & barrett or the wekllbeing section of sainsburys). i think this post is long enough all ready, so will just say that I read a copy of now magazine this week that had a 2 page spread about bloating, hopefully its still in the shops so you can go buy it! if not let me know and I can relay more stuff on here. Also a good book to buy if you wanna know more is foods that harm, foods that heal or Gillian McKeiths books. Hope that helps!
